Here at J&M Hideaway farm, we are committed to giving our customers a quality experience every time. We start by doing our best to breed animals that excel in both the show ring and the milking parlor. Next, we endeavor to manage our animals in a way that exacts their full potential.
We want customers to be satisfied with both the animal(s) they purchase and the buying experience. We guarantee the animals we sell at the time of their departure from our herd are in good health, managed to their full potential, and of good quality.
When you decide to purchase an animal from us, we recommend that you reach out to us on our farm page Facebook messenger, or via our email, email@example.com. This enables our team to better assist each and every one of our customers for a more enjoyable customer experience.
When you contact us, please note that we have several different options for buyers. Our first level of animals we offer are the show quality does and bucks. These are animals we believe will genetically contribute to the betterment of the Nubian breed and, when properly managed, have the potential to be competitive in the show ring. We do not guarantee the success of any animal once it is out of our care. For show quality animals, we have a variety of options to choose from and we advise people to research which does they are interested in reserving kids from. For doe kid reservations, we do a waitlist for each doe. For buck kids, we require a $200.00 deposit per kid reserved. This deposit is placed towards the total price of the kid.
Once kids are born, we take a few days to evaluate them to ensure they are the quality we wish to sell. Once we have evaluated them, we will reach out to our customers to let them know that their kid(s) have been born and are available. We reserve the right to retain any animals born that we want to use in our breeding program, regardless of reservations on those animals. Once we reach out to you and let you know that your kid is available, we require a 50% deposit within 48 hours to retain your kid until pickup. For buck kids, we count your original deposit as part of the 50% deposit. In the case of buck kids, if the animal you are interested in does not have a kid of the desired sex, you have the option to roll your deposit over to the next year. If you would rather, we can work with you to find you a comparable kid out of another animal during the current year. Your deposit will count as a credit towards another buck kid. If we contact you that your buck kid is available for purchase and you decide not to buy anything, the deposit is not refundable. If we cannot provide you a buck kid out of a doe that you put a deposit on, we will, upon request, refund the deposit. For all buck kids purchased, we reserve the right to purchase 10 straws of semen at processing price if and when their new owner has them collected. We also reserve this right for any adult bucks sold.
For doe kids we only take a waitlist. Once a doe kid is born, we will take time to evaluate them. Once we have evaluated them, we will reach out to let you know that your doe kid is available. Once contacted, you have 48 hours to place a 50% deposit on your kid. If you decide not to buy the doe kid, the deposit is not refundable. If for any reason the doe kid you put a deposit on is unable to be sold after you place your deposit, we will refund your deposit in full.
Once you have paid a half deposit for your kid, you are responsible for arranging transportation for your kid. We have several excellent transporters that we have worked with in the past that we know and trust and if requested, we will be happy to give you their information so that you can arrange transportation with them. You have 21 days to pick up your kid after your half down deposit. We are happy to work with our customers if transportation takes longer than 21 days to arrive, but 21 days is our standard allotment for transportation arrangement and pickup. We retain the right to refuse any transportation or transporter that we feel is not in the best interest of our animals health or well-being. At this time, we do not air ship. If you decide to go with using a transporter instead of farm pickup, full payment is required before pickup. For customers from out of state, we encourage and offer a CVI for your purchase at the customer’s expense. Please note that some time frames make it difficult and more expensive to procure a CVI depending on the amount of time we are given between request for a CVI and your arrival.
We accept Venmo as an wireless payment option. Payment upon pickup is only accepted in cash. We also accept checks by mail. Please note that full payment must be sent to us, deposited, and cleared before pickup. We do offer discounts on purchases of three or more animals. The extent of these discounts depends on the purchase made. We also offer a discount of $100.00 for repeat customers.
We want our customers to be happy with their animals. While we have no control over how an animal is managed, there are some traits that when exhibited, in an animal that we have sold, we will offer an animal of equal value as a replacement. This includes:
1. Blind teats on a doe
2. Double teat(s)
3. Extra Teat(s)
4. Double orifices on teat(s) (as confirmed by our discretion)
5. Hermaphroditism (as confirmed by a certified blood test at owner’s expense)
6. Permanent physical defects such as a naval hernia (at our veterinary discretion)
7. Crooked faces on bucks
8. Abnormal testicles on bucks (as confirmed by veterinary discretion)
These are defects that we screen for and evaluate for at an early age. We assure our customers that the animals they are buying are high quality and that they have been evaluated to ensure that these traits are not present. However in the unlikely event that an animal of our breeding, directly purchased from us does have one of these defects manifest itself, we will replace the animal with an animal of equal value or at the customer’s request, give a credit of the amount the animal in question was purchased for to be used towards the purchase of any animal from us that we offer. We do not offer monetary refunds of any kind for this type of situation. In the unlikely event that an animal purchased in a premier sale has one of these defects, we will endeavor to replace said animal with an animal that is as close as possible genetically to the animal in question. If we are not able to provide this, we will accommodate a credit for the value of the animal in question as it would be sold for from our farm, NOT the amount that it was purchased for at the sale, to the new owner.
We are committed to selling high quality show and production animals. However, we do acknowledge that sometimes, some animals are not meant for show or breeding herds. We do offer select few animals as pet without registration papers. If you are interested in buying pet quality animals from us, please reach out to us on the farm Facebook page messenger, or email.
We also offer home milking does available for sale. These are animals that are functionally correct, but are not show quality. We do not usually offer these animals with registration papers. We ask that those interested in buying home milking does contact the farm Facebook page messenger or email.
While we have tried to encompass every situation into our terms and conditions, we realize that some things happen that are not predictable. We urge our customers to reach out to us for help and advice and we will be happy to oblige. We are committed to giving our customers a great experience every time. We not only want to have a relationship with them during the buying process but after they drive away with their new doe or buck and for the years to come after.
